Stamp Resist Technique Wedding Card and a Sketch!

Happy Sunday!

It has been a bit of a gloomy day here the Chicago area and we have even had some snowflakes. UGH! We are seeing some spring-like days now though, so slowly but surely spring will get here.

With the arrival of spring there is love in the air. This includes weddings and celebrations! I have one of those coming up so I needed to make a beautiful wedding card. I have a few sets I can use for a wedding theme, but I really like the bold sentiments in the Big News stamp set. Here is my result:

First, I will mention that I followed the Sketch over at Create with Connie and Mary to get me started. I just reversed it to the other side. Here is their sketch:Create with Connie and Mary sketch

I am entering my card for their challenge!

Now to go over this fun Stamp Resist Technique.  Have you heard of it?  I just recently learned about it and had to try it.  You can’t really tell it in the picture, but the background paper with the stripes is originally all white with the stripes being glossy white embossed. The embossed part has a coating on it so I was able to take my brayer and use my Silver Ink to run right over the whole piece of paper. Once I covered the whole thing with the silver ink I took a paper towel and wiped away the ink on the paper. The only ink that comes off is on the embossed stripes. The rest stays inked, pretty cool right?!! You can probably tell that my ink did not cover the stripes perfectly, but I actually really like it. It almost appears that the paper came with the variation in color. I highly recommend giving this technique a try. It will be like adding a whole new paper supply to your list! I should note that the paper I used is part of the Sale-A-Bration freebie paper you can get now through the end of the month with a 50 dollar purchase. So if you like it, get it while you still can!!

Now I am off to see what else I can create before I have to get back to the grind of work tomorrow. Have a creative week if you can!
