Happy Halloween!!!

My favorite Holiday is here!!

In honor of this holiday I will share with you one last Halloween card.

Among the branches

I CASEd this card from Linda Heller over at www.stampingschool.com.  It was such a perfect design I knew I wanted to make the card. I also made this card in my card class last month and everyone seemed to love it.

There is some fun sponging technique used to make the spooky sky  with Lost Lagoon and Wisteria Wonder.  This technique was also used to make the  autumn moon using Tangelo Twist and Crushed Curry.  The Among The Branches embossing folder was used on Wisteria Wonder paper and then I used a sponge dauber to lightly add more Wisteria Wonder to the branches to make them stand out.  Linda does such a wonderful job of designing cards.  If you have yet to visit Stamping School, I highly recommend you check it out. Then you can see the full instruction on how to make this card!

Enjoy your Halloween and make it a spooky one!

A French County version of Vintage Leaves from Stampin’ Up!

Happy Tuesday Crafty Folks!

I just finished a super fun card class last night making beautiful fall color themed projects.  For the card I am sharing today the same stamps were used but with a totally different look!

Stampin' Up Vintage Leaves

Do you think I am correct in calling this a French County look?  That is what it made me think of when I saw it!

Now I need to give credit where it is due because I was totally inspired by another stamper to make this card.  Her name is Kristin and here is her beautiful card:

Stampin' with Kristin Inspiration photo

You can see more about her creation by checking out her website at http://kristinstamps.typepad.com/elmerstamper/ or you can just click on the picture to get the details of how she made her card.  Thanks for the inspiration Kristin!

To make my card I used Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and Tip Top Taupe inks.  I used the Crumb cake paper as my card base and then stamped that color again onto Whisper White with the Hardwood Stamp  for the background. There is also a faint background directly behind the leaves you can just barely see. That was stamped with the You’ve Got This background stamp with Versamark. I added in Sahara Sand lace Ribbon and tied up the leaves with the super fine Gold Metallic Thread.  To finish it off I added little dabs of glue with the Fine Tip Glue Pen and glittered up the dots with Gold Glitter.  I chose to make this card without a sentiment so I could be free to use it for many occasions.

I hope you like both my creation and the inspiration card. Have you tried making fall cards with non-traditional colors?  If not you should give it a try to see what you come up with!

It is Tuesday so it is time for another Weekly Deals update. Here they are:

Stampin’ Up! Howl-O-Ween Treat is still on my mind!

Hi crafty Friends,

Yes, I am back with another Halloween card! I will go ahead and mention it now, it isn’t my last.  🙂  I nearly have all the cards made that I need, but not quite yet.  Also, when I saw the inspiration photo over at the Fusion Blog I knew I had to make one more just to participate!

Howl-O-Ween Treat

I decided to loosely follow their inspiration photo and the sketch.  Here is what that looks like:

Fusion Sketch 10-15

To make this card I started with a black card base and added a layer of the spider web paper from the Happy Haunting DSP.  Then I added a layer of Black Glimmer Paper and Rich Razzelberry. Next I added one more layer of Very Vanilla and the star paper from the Happy Haunting DSP.  I topped that off with the cut out stamped images from the Howl-O-Ween Treat stamp set. I realized I had not yet used the BOO from the Boo To You Framelits so I had to use that as my sentiment. I also used the star from that Framelit set to cut out those cute little stars.  I chose to use one more paper from the Happy Haunting DSP for this. This card is a little heavy with all the layers so it may cost more to send, but that is okay. I will make sure it goes to someone special.

I am, of course, entering this card in the challenge at FusionCardChallenge.

Hope you like it and you too are busy wrapping up your Halloween cards, because there is not much time left!!
