A Simple Snowflake Christmas Card and the Stampin’ Up! Online Extravaganza sale is coming!

Happy Saturday!

It is a very snowy day here in the Chicago Suburbs. Perfect day for crafting with snowflakes, right?  Since that is the case I have a very quick and easy Christmas card to share with you today.

This could easily be one you can make in multiples to get your Christmas Cards done fast.   I started with a card base in Mossy Meadow and then cut out a 4 X 5 1/4 piece of Crumb Cake. I then cut a 1 x 5 1/4 strip of patterned paper from the Merry Moments DSP paper pack in the holiday catalog.  You could easily use many of the other pattern options, but I really liked the way this plaid looked with the snowflakes.  To make the snowflakes I stamped the second to largest one from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set at the top in Mossy Meadow and then did the same with the smaller snowflakes.  I added the sentiment, also from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set, at the bottom right in Real Red.  Once a stamped and assembled I tied the adorable 1/8 inch Striped Ribbon in Real Red into a simple knot to cover up the seam between the Crumb Cake and the DSP. Lastly, I added the pretty Metal Rimmed Pearls in the size that best fit each snowflake. That’s it!  Simple, fast and still pretty!

Now let’s talk about some of the Amazing deals coming up! Stampin’ Up! is offering special deals all week next week and some of them last for only 24 hours so you have to be sure you don’t miss that item on your wish list at one of the best prices available.

Happy Scenes and The Weekly Deals

Hello Crafty Friends,

Finally back with a project to show you.  I chose to use the Happy Scenes stamp set because we truly need some Happiness in our lives these days with all that is going on in the world.  I have had some challenges in coming up with Christmas cards this year so I was glad to have a cute little idea pop into my head.

This was a very simple card to make and I feel that the colors are quite soothing.  I got inspiration for this card over at the What Will You Stamp blog as their theme this week is Happy Scenes.

To make this card I used Soft Sky and Cherry Cobbler in and paper.  The image was stamped using Memento Black.  It is hard to tell in this picture but the sky was colored in lightly with a sponge and there is also lightly falling snow.  This was stamped using the small circles in the Happy Scenes set with versamark and Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The idyllic scene is framed out using the window die from the Hearth and Home Thinlit set. I chose to use the Elegant Dots Texture Impression Embossing folder to make it appear like it was a wallpaper on the inside of the house.  I finished things off with the Cherry Cobbler Twine and the simple Noel sentiment which is also part of the Happy Scenes stamp set.  This was cut out using the smallest of the Lots of Labels Framelits.

Delicate Ornaments and the Weekly Deals!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I want to start by saying that my life seems to be getting busy enough that I might be posting a bit less than I used to ( you can probably already tell that is happening!) Fear not, I will keep trying share ideas and of course deals that are available whenever I can.

Today’s card features the beautiful Delicate Ornament Thinlit dies and Embellished Ornament stamp set.

Stampin Up Embellished Ornament

I don’t often make cards without a sentiment, and actually I tried this card with a sentiment and without.  Without a sentiment looked that best so that is what I went with.  I cut the center ornament out with the Gold Foil paper and then used the Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum stack to cut out the delicate overlay.  The Ornament stamps were stamped in Garden Green and Real Red . I lined them up so I could thread them together with the Gold Cording Trim and the Ornament tops that are part of the Delicate Ornament Thinlit set. The patterned paper is part of the Merry Moments DSP in the Annual Catalog.  There is also a Merry Moments DSP stack in the Holiday catalog, but it has a few less patterns to choose from.

I hope you like the card!  I have many more Christmas card to get done so I am sure I will have much more to share.

Onto the Weekly Deals
