Hello Crafty Friends,
I am taking another quick break from Halloween cards to jump into Christmas! If you have looked at the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog then surely you have seen how many unbelievably adorable Christmas stamp set there are, right? I think the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set is one of them! Even though I love Halloween I am also a big fan of Christmas. Check out this new card I made that mixes new stuff with an old favorite from last Christmas.
I used the Pretty Pines Thinlits to cut out lots of branches with the super pretty Glimmer Paper. I added in some green using the new Sprig punch. It is really nice to have a punch that can make sprigs for all the different projects we make! The sentiment is from the new Farmhouse Christmas stamp set. I will have more to show on that set sometime soon because it is the cutest thing ever! That tiny little wreath you see in the sentiment was added in and the bow was colored using the Cherry Cobbler Dark Blends marker. I cut the sentiment out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I then loosely wrapped Silver Metallic Thread around the leaves and added in some Clear Epoxy Droplets here and there. The paper I used is part of the All is Bright Designer Series Paper pack and has lots of versatility. One side is photo-real scenes and the other is basic simple designs. Stampin’ Up! always seems to make sure we have options!! The card stock and ink color used is Shaded Spruce. I believe it is one of my most favorite greens because it is so very rich.
Have you started thinking about your Christmas cards yet? I will be sure to give you more ideas so hopefully you can find some inspiration here! ♥
Hi Crafty Friends,
I am very late in posting this information but the new Catalog is here!! I have yet another Halloween creation to share with you. ( I promise I will be making a few other types of cards soon!)
I used a few of the new catalog sets to make this card. The swirling branch was cut out with the Night Owl Thinlit dies. There is a great coordinating stamp set that goes with the dies and it could easily be used for more than Halloween! The bats were cut out using the new Spooky Bats punch. The Happy Halloween sentiment came from the Spooky Sweets stamp set. This stamp set coordinates with the Spooky Bats punch. The make the gray appearance behind the sentiment I just may a few swooshes with my Light Smokey Slate Blends marker. The background for the scene was made using a aqua painter, smokey slate ink and watercolor paper. I took a acrylic block and stamped the ink pad directly on it. This became my palette for picking up as much of the ink that I needed with the aqua painter. To make the moon I punched out Whisper White with my 1 1/2 inch circle punch and then added Daffodil Delight until I liked the appearance. I finished things off by adding some of the Frosted Droplets that are also in the new catalog.
I hope this gives you some more ideas for making spooky cards!
Hello Crafty Friends,
In just 11 days you will be able to purchase items from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog – woohoo!!! If you have been following me, or know me well, then you know Halloween is my favorite holiday. So, of course, I had to get pretty much all the Halloween stamp sets; and I have my first creation to share with you today!
This card is chalked full of spooky goodies from the new catalog! The stamps are from the new Cauldron Bubble Stamp set. It has all the things you need to make a cute, yet spooky, witch scene. It also has matching Framelits. The name of the Framelit set is Cauldron Bubble and I used it to cut out the cauldron, the cat, the ghost and the spider web. The fun ghost paper in the background is the new Toil & Trouble DSP that matches perfectly with this stamp set. I used the black 1/8 inch cord that is in our current annual catalog to dress things up. I colored in the cauldron, the cat, and the green slime and flame with Blends markers. We will even have new Blends to choose from in the Holiday catalog! The background color was made using a dauber with Highland Heather and Smokey Slate ink.
I hope you enjoyed this little taste of the many fabulous items yet to come in just a few days from now. You won’t want to miss this catalog because it truly has some of the best stamp sets I have seen since being a part of this company. If you need a catalog, just let me know!
Hi Crafty Friends,
I have a pretty card to share with you as well as exciting news about a deal you don’t want to miss!
This pretty card was made using the Abstract Impressions Stamp set and Springtime Impressions Thinlits. We may have lost our Butterfly Thinlits in the last catalog, but this beautiful butterfly thinlit makes up for it! The pretty flowers are a two step stamp from the stamp set but I could have made it a three step! There are lots of options to make your creation your own with the Abstract Impressions stamp set. The colors used are Grapefruit Grove and Highland Heather with a touch of Mint Macaron. I also used a little bit of Gorgeous Grape and Soft Sea Form ink to give the flowers an leave dimension. I used basic white pearls and Mint Macaron pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls pack. I also added two types of Ribbon: The 5/8 Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon in Whisper White and the 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon in Grapefruit Grove. The sentiment was cut out using the Petals & More Thinlits.
Now let’s talk about the deal Stampin’ Up! has going on right now!

Hello Crafty Friends!
I am finally back after a super busy July to share a calming summer themed card to close out this month. I had a chance to use the beautiful Magical Mermaid stamp set with the new Tranquil Textures Designer Series paper and it is match made in….the ocean!! 🙂
The mermaid stamp is one of the best ones Stampin’ Up! sells to practice your Blends Coloring technique! To color this beauty I used Light Bermuda Bay, Light and Dark Pool Party, Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry, Light Old Olive and Light Daffodil Delight. I just kept adding tiny bits of color until I liked the result. Of course all mermaids required sparkle so there is plenty of clear of Wink of Stella used as well! The background paper is from the Tranquil Tide DSP. I also used some of this same DSP to cut out the triangle element using the Eclectic Layers Thinlits. The cardstock colors used are Mint Macaron and Balmy Blue.
I hope this cards helps you come up with some magical and creative ideas!
