Quick Graduation Gift Card Holder!

Hello crafty friends!

I am finally back to share something with you!  Let me start by saying Happy Mother’s day to all the mothers out there! I am lucky enough to still have my mom in my life and that makes me smile. Hopefully all the mothers out there are are finding time to do what they love!

Today’s card I am going to share it not a Mother’s Day card.  I figured it made more sense to share something that is coming up right around the corner.  Graduation!  We have one of those coming up at our house as the middle child finishes high school at the end of the month. Most of the time people give money or gift cards to a graduate so I figured that is just what this card needed to be!

Celebrate Today Graduation Card

This was a super quick card to make and although it is simple, the silver helps to give it just a little bit of glam for a special occasion like graduating.  Here is what the inside looks like:

First, I must give some credit to Liz Miller over at Stampin With Liz because I totally CASEd this card from her. Though her colors and stamps are different, I used her dimensions and inspiration. Check out her card here:  http://stampinwithliz.com/?p=7237  Thanks Liz!

To make this card I used the Celebrate Today stamp set for the outside and the Perfect Pairings Sale-A-Bration set for my inside sentiment.  I decided to use Bermuda Bay mostly because I liked the way it looked with the Shine On patterned paper.  I probably should have used school colors, but, if I am being honest, it would not have looked good with the shine on paper and I REALLY wanted to use that!  😉 To make the card I cut the Bermuda Bay into 7 3/4 x 5.  I also cut a strip of Bermuda Bay at 7 3/4 X 1 for the belly band. The larger Bermuda Bay cardstock was then scored at 2 1/2 inches and 6 inches. For the Shine On DSP I cut it  in two pieces. One at 2- 1/4 x 4-3/4 and the other at  1-1/2 x 4-3/4. The inside white layer was cut at 2-1/4 x 4-3/4.  I chose to use my Oval Framlits for the front and made sure to add in the Silver Foil paper to bring out the silver in paper.  I used my Star Framelits and the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack to finish things off and then added one pretty Rhinestone. The sides of the paper on the inside were adhered using the Tape N Tear strip so it would stay nice and tight.  That is it!  It was quick and easy so if you need a gift card holder, give it a try!

I hope your weekend was wonderful and filled with crafty inspiration!
