Quick and Easy Halloween card with the Making Every Day Bright stamp set

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a super easy Halloween card to share with you.  Don’t let the word easy fool you, this card still has some wow factor!

I made this card using the Making Every Day Bright stamp set.  You might have missed this one, but it is a great set that gives you the opportunity to make cards for all the holidays.  It also coordinates with the Making Christmas Bright stamp set.  To make the card I stamped the spider web light bulbs in Memento Black ink.  I then colored them in using my Dark Pumpkin Pie blends marker.  Be sure you let the ink dry well before coloring!  I also stamped the bottom of the light bulb in Memento Black ink.  Next it was time to cut these out which is super easy since there is a matching punch!  This is the Christmas Bulb punch.  Once I had them all punched out I grabbed my 1/8 inch black cord and laid it on the card in a way that I thought looks like a curled out light string.  I used dimensionals and glue dots to put the bulbs in place.  I finished the card with a sentiment from the Cauldron Bubble stamp set.  I wanted to keep this card clean and simple so I only used Whisper White and Black cardstock.

What do you think?  This card could easily be made in under 10 minutes and you can use the same template for any of the holidays in the stamp set.  Check out all the stamps that are part of the set below:

I hope enjoyed another Halloween card to get your creative juices flowing.  I am just getting started on Christmas cards and will have lots to share with you soon!

Farmhouse Christmas…er…Halloween? Yes!!

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have a fun card to share with you today!  This is one of those times I took a stamp set in a whole other direction and I am pretty happy with the outcome!

This is a great example of turning a Christmas set into Halloween!

I should be sure and mention that this card is not for individuals who want quick and easy.  There is fussy cutting, coloring, fussy placement and more, but it is a great card to give to someone special!  I know who I am sending it to because I am certain they will appreciate it!

To make this card I started with a Smoky Slate base cut at 5 x 4 inches.  I then stamped the house, and the tree from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set in memento ink. I colored these in with Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake, and Daffodil Delight Blends.  I tried to make the windows look more spooky by using a mix of Smokey Slate and Daffodil Delight.  To make the hills I just randomly cut out pieces of crumb cake until I liked the shapes.  I wanted the house to appear to be further away from the fence. These multiple layers of card stock give the appearance of distance.  I then used my sponge dauber and smokey slate  ink and went over the house, the tree, the hills and the background.  To make the moon I punched out a Whisper White circle with my 1 1/4 inch circle punch.  I then used Daffodil Delight to light go over it in a circle.  I have to say the moon looks much brighter in this picture than it does in person.  Next, it was time for some fussy cutting.  Those tiny little ghosts are part of the Toil and Trouble DSP.  I just took my time to cut each one out.  They look so cute all over the house and tree! I then used the fence die, that is part of the Farmhouse Framelits, to cut out the fence.  After I cut it I carefully crunched up the fence so it looks more weathered.  Once I had it adhered to my card I also used my Take Your Pick tool to mess it up some. (By the way, if you don’t have this tool yet you need it!) The last thing I did is stamp the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Cauldron Bubble stamp set and make it into a banner.

So what do you think?  Does this give you ideas of how to extend the use of your stamps?  We must always remember to get creative with our supplies.

The New 2016 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog is Here!!

Yay! The day has finally come that we can share all the goodies from the Holiday Catalog! You know I am excited about the Halloween sets the most so of course my first card to share is a Halloween card!

SU Jar of Haunts and Ghoulish Grunge

There are so many fun Halloween sets in this catalog I didn’t know what to use first!  I finally settled on the Jar of Haunts set and the Ghoulish Grunge set.  Both of these are shown here!  I started making this card by using many of the stamps from the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set to make a spooky background.  This set is PERFECT for making things look spooky! Then I took the Jack-O-Lantern from the Jar of Haunts set and stamped that on Pumpkin Pie paper.  I stamped the leaf and stem on Old Olive.  This needed to be fussy cut out.  The stem and leaf were a little tricky but it is doable! After I had my pumpkin ready I grabbed some of the new Halloween Night Baker’s Twine.  You get Pumpkin Pie and Basic Gray when  you buy this.  I used the Pumpkin Pie, but I separated the twine so I could use the Black and Pumpkin Pie string unattached.  I then made loops with both colors until I liked the design.  It is always good to remember that you can use your supplies in unusual ways! My next step was to stamp the greeting.  This is from the Jar of Haunts set.  I decided to “fussy cut” the greeting to just to make it look a little less symmetrical.  I sponged the sides of the stamped background and the greeting.  I then took a piece of the new Halloween Night Designer Series Paper and layered that behind the stamped paper.  My card base is Basic Black.  I finished everything off with some of the new Halloween Night Enamel Dots.

Do you have your new Holiday Catalog yet?  No?? If not, then let me know and I will send you one.  Check out this fun video that highlights just a few of the new goodies you can get!

Isn’t it great? I love this catalog!!

I hope I get to share more goodies with you again very soon.

Happy Crafting!

Happy Haunting!!

Hey there crafty folks!

I have yet again made a Halloween card! Hopefully you are not tired of them yet because I still need to make at least 7 more and I really like trying to make them all different!  🙂 This card was super easy because the DSP did most of the work for me.

That fun background paper is part of the Motley Monsters DSP from Stampin’ Up. With that pretty background all I had to do was stamp some Jack-o-Lanterns from the Fall Fest Set and some leaves to go with it. Then I added a sentiment from the Ghoulish Greetings set and it was done.

I am entering this card over at Stampin’ Up! only Challenge Blog as their theme this week is Autumn Colors!

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday and I will be back with more fun Halloween cards soon!
