Happy World Card Making Day!!
I hope everyone is finding more time to be crafty than I am! The day job I have keeps getting in my way of fun stuff like stamping…. don’t you hate it when that happens? If there is any day we should all make time for it, it is today!
I have been playing around with all my Halloween stamp sets as I am having time. I always have a goal to try and come up with something new. I had seen other stamps stamp images that essentially look like a faux background paper and I thought I would give it a try.
To make this I used only stamps from the Spooky Fun stamp set which works perfectly for this technique. I wanted it to appear as though it was pre-printed paper rather than stamped images. To do that I try to stamp in similar groupings all around the card. I think it worked, what do you think? I also really wanted to try using the cute little tassels in the Holiday catalog. I love them! I decided to give the ghosts a little sparkle, can you see it? That was added with the clear wink of stella pen.
You could try this technique with any set of stamps that are meant to coordinate. Give it a try!

Hi Crafty folks!
I am back with another Halloween card (I still have many more to make too!) For this card I used many items from the Spooky Fun Stamp set and the coordinating Halloween Scene Edgelits.
This card was a little bit of work, but I think I could re-create it much faster if I did it again. I spent alot of time working out what I would want on the card and where I wanted things. I started by finding DSP that might appear to be a wall. The brick in the Halloween Night DSP pack was perfect! I sponged that to make it look spookier. Then I used the Hearth and Home Framelit to cut out my window. I then used the Halloween Scene Edgelits to cut out the Tree and the Pumpkins. The bat and Ghost were cut/stamped using the Home Sweet Home Thinlit Dies and Sweet Home stamp set. The Moon is from the Spooky Fun set and was stamped in Smokey Slate ink. I then used So Saffron to sponge the color on the Moon. I fussy cut the moon out so I could easily place it behind the tree just where I wanted it. I adhered all the items on a piece of Whisper White paper that was sponged with Wisteria Wonder and Smokey Slate to make it look like a spooky night. Once I had that assembled, I used the spider web and Spider from the Spooky Fun Stamp set up in the corner. Then I got out my Hardwood background stamp so I could make a floor board. I wanted the Pumpkins to look as though they are sitting on the floor, did it work? I finished up the card by added some Halloween Night Baker’s Twine and stamping the sentiment on the banner from the Number of Years Stamp set. I also used the coordinating Large Number Framelits to cut out the banner.
I hope you like this card! I think it may end up being one of my favorites this year!
My favorite Holiday is here!!
In honor of this holiday I will share with you one last Halloween card.
I CASEd this card from Linda Heller over at www.stampingschool.com. It was such a perfect design I knew I wanted to make the card. I also made this card in my card class last month and everyone seemed to love it.
There is some fun sponging technique used to make the spooky sky with Lost Lagoon and Wisteria Wonder. This technique was also used to make the autumn moon using Tangelo Twist and Crushed Curry. The Among The Branches embossing folder was used on Wisteria Wonder paper and then I used a sponge dauber to lightly add more Wisteria Wonder to the branches to make them stand out. Linda does such a wonderful job of designing cards. If you have yet to visit Stamping School, I highly recommend you check it out. Then you can see the full instruction on how to make this card!
Enjoy your Halloween and make it a spooky one!
I am back with one more sneak peek from the holiday catalog coming out September 1! It is another Halloween card and it was fun to create.
Did you know a skeleton can also be a witch? Me either, but when I put this hat on the skull decided why not?! That skull and hat are part of the new set called Howl-O-Ween Treat and it comes with lots of other goodies too. I will post a picture of the entire stamp set at the end of the blog. It even comes with a matching die set! Now, how about that adorable spider web doily? I have seen so many cute things made with this doily! If you turn it over it is white so you could use it more like a snowflake accent. I have also seen other emboss it in gold and other pretty colors to turn it into whatever color you need. The pretty paper you see is part of the new Happy Haunting DSP. It has matching washi tape too! The sentiment is from a current stamp set called And Many More.
Here is the Howl-O-Ween Treat stamp set;
I hope you enjoyed another sneak peek. I may have even more to share so keep checking back to see what I come up with!
