I am back with another sneak pick from the Stampin’ Up! 2014 Holiday Catalog! Once again, you can purchase items from this catalog as of August 28th. I decided to make a little Christmas card with some of my new goodies and here is what I came up with:
I truly love so many of the new goodies in the catalog! For this card I used the new Tree Punch available in the Holiday Catalog. It has a matching stamp set but since I didn’t have that yet I decided to just punch some of the new DSP! The paper for the trees is this fantastic, thick kraft cardstock with beautiful designs in coordinating Red and Greens. The paper is called Under the Tree Specialty DSP. Be sure not to miss this paper and it is truly beautiful. The other item used on this card from the new Catalog is The Be Merry Stamp. It is from a new set called Holiday Invitation which would be a great one to choose if you are planning to have any holiday parties. This set includes invite wording for Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving and one stamp that could be for any party occasion.
The remaining items on the card are all available now with the exception of the Chevron Paper. Unfortunately that one is last years holiday DSP and I just loved the way it looked so I used it.
I hope you like this card and if you need the new catalog coming out on August 28, just let me know!
I have also decided it would be fun to enter this card into a new challenge blog I found over at Christmas Card Challenge Blog. The current challenge #36 is to use an embellishment so my cute little button and linen thread should fit!
Happy Crafting everyone!

Hello friends and followers,
I am very excited to be posting something today because I am less then one week post op from having back surgery. The fact that I feel well enough to actually sit in a chair for a while gets me excited!! I am not out of the woods yet and still need to change positions often but I was able to make one card and I was thrilled about it. Lets hope I continue to improve and eventually will be pain free! Now, on to the challenges!
I found so many great ones out there I could not make up my mind and decided I would make a card that fit multiple challenges. So this card is going to be submitted for:
Freshly Made Sketches challenge #147
Colour Me Creative Challenge # 31
and The Paper Players Theme Challenge # 207 – Buttons
What a fun and easy card to make! I needed to make a birthday card for my Sister-n-law and I wanted something a bit more modern and simple. I think this card is both. For the Colour Me challenge I was required to use So Saffron, Hello Honey and Strawberry Slush. I went digging in my papers to see what pretty Designer Series paper I might have and found I had some nice options for Hello Honey and Strawberry Slush, but I could not find anything in So Saffron. So I decided to make my own Designer paper! I just stamped some white paper with the Dotty Angles Stamp using So Saffron ink and voila, a pattern was made! I like the way it turned out. I am also finding I really like that Happy Hooray stamp set. I have already used it 3 times and I have only had a it a few weeks. Don’t you love it when a set you aren’t sure about turns out to be one you love? 🙂
Now that I have had some time to create, it is time for me to rest. I can’t sit for too long so my back heals properly.

I will admit, making tags is not something I seem to have great skill in completing. It is funny really because how hard can it be to make a tag, right? But for some reason I just stare at my paper wondering what in the world I will come up with… except this time! For some reason I had an idea pop into my head the minute I saw the July Tags Challenge theme at Catherine & Cathy Create! I just grabbed a piece of scrap paper nearby and went with it. That is probably how I need to think about it from now on. You can’t force creativity! With that said, here is my creation:
A simple tag ready to be attached to a yummy treat or small gift.
Now I am off to see what else I can create….well after I get done with my workday anyway. 🙂
