Spectacular Stampin’ Up! Autumn Card using Falling for Leaves and Colorful Seasons stamp sets

Hi Crafty Friends,

I am have been busy in my craft room coming up with more ideas to share with you!  Today’s card is a wonderful fall themed thank you card.  I always seem to be low on thank you cards.  I guess that means I am sending out plenty!

This card reminds me a bit of a double ended cornucopia!   To make this started by stamping and cutting out the leaves.  I used the Falling for Leaves Stamp set and colorful Seasons stamp set.  The dies used are the Detailed Leaves Thinlits and Seasonal Layers Thinlits. The card stock colors used are Blackberry Bliss, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Sahara Sand and Copper Foil.  The stamped leaves on the Sahara Sand paper are part of the Falling for Leaves set. I also added in some little dots that came from the Petal Palette stamp set.  I went over part of those leaves with some Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle!  The copper leaves that have been die cut were also embossed with my Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. Always remember when both die cut and emboss something to do the die cut first!  This way you don’t smooth out the embossing you just did.  🙂  The Thankful sentiment is part of the Falling for Leaves stamp set and was stamped in blackberry ink.  The circle is part of the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  To finish things off I wrapped some Copper Metallic Thread around my circle and added some Gold Metallic Pearls.  Even though I used more copper the gold pearls are so close you can’t tell the difference!

Now that we have officially entered Autumn in the USA I am ready to make even more fall and Halloween themed cards.  How about you? Leave me a comment letting me know what current project your working on.  🙂

Stampin’ Up! Country Home and Tin Tile Embossing folder

Hi Crafty Friends,

The new Holiday catalog is so chocked full of wonderful new stamp sets it is very hard to decide what to use next!  One very popular new set is the Country Home stamp set.  If you do a search on pinterest you will find loads of wonderful creative ideas already available to CASE.  Here is my first creation using this set:

This stamp set offers you many ways to truly make a pretty, country inspired card.  The new Tin Tile Embossing folder is AWESOME!  It looks just like that old fashioned tin tile roof we used to see in the stores of yesteryear.  I have seen so many truly amazing creations to get a distressed look on this.  I used the new Galvanized Metallic Paper with the embossing folder and then adding some Gray Granite over the top with a dauber to give it only a slight tinge of being worn.  It is hard to see it in this photo.  The old style milk can was stamped in memento ink and then colored in with Smoky Slate light and dark Blends.  I tried to make it appear the light was hitting the can from the left and added more shading to the right side.  The thanks sentiment is one of 4 options that fit in the oval label stamp.  There are two different flower arrangement options in this stamp set, but I chose the one with plenty of leaves.  I colored those in with Old Olive Blends and the Flower was colored in Rich Razzleberry Blends.  The Cat Tails were colored in with Crumb Cake Blends.  I decided to add a doily  to the back o the stamped image and finished it off with the new Galvanized Metal Buttons and some Linen Thread.

If you get this stamp set you could easily make it rustic, country and maybe even a little elegant.

I hope this helps you find some inspiration in your crafts!

Bright Colors Fusion Card Challenge

Happy Monday all!

The weather this past weekend was gorgeous here in the Chicago Suburbs! I tried to enjoy it in my zero gravity chair since I still have my back issues. If you don’t have one of those, I highly recommend one!

Anyway, I have been working on some thank you cards as I can because I got the BEST get well gift from my co-workers. They really loaded me up with Coffee gifts and wonderful smelling soaps from L’Occitane! I wanted something happy and I noticed that over at the Fusion Card Challenge there were some really great color suggestions this week. I did not follow the challenge exactly, but it is pretty close:

Here is what the challenge indicated:

I have the orange and yellow colors in my card and I think I used the sketch right on the money, so hopefully this works. I am considering my spiral cut outs the ” flowers” on the card.  🙂  Here is the inside of the card:

I also chose to try a few different color combinations:

I think these look like such happy thank you cards! I sure hope everyone likes them. They were pretty easy to pull together. The only time-consuming part is when you are making 13 of them and you need 4 cut out Starburst circles per card – that is 52 circles! Thankfully I did only a little at a time which makes the task more manageable. Let me know what you think… do you have a favorite color combo out of the ones shown?

Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday!!
